The first start at university can be scary, especially since you will have to complete some administrative procedures before starting classes. In most universities, a one-stop shop that brings together players from higher education and the region to guide you and answer your questions.

Simplify your administrative procedures

At the University of Reims (51), the “one-stop school-to-school office”, open from August 25 allows you to meet several key players at the start of the new academic year : University of Reims, Crous de Reims, student mutual MGEL, Crédit Agricole du Nord Est, Action Logement group with rental guarantee VISALE, CPAM. At the University of Bordeaux (33), these reception desks are located on different campuses, inside the student life offices. You will be able to ask any question about your student life or ask for help with your daily procedures (housing, work, financial aid). Services such as CAF or public transport also form a hotline.

The University of Toulouse (31) also welcomes its students at the reception desk throughout the year. It brings together representatives of the CIO of the prefecture of Haute-Garonne, the rectory of the Toulouse Academy and the Sup, the Haute-Garonne Family Benefit Fund, the Toulouse-Occitanie Crous and the Departmental Council of Access to Justice.

A welcoming place for international students

There are also one-stop shops reception centers for international students, for example at the University of Caen. “There used to be individual offices where students would come when they had problems. Now we have a big, friendly space where we welcome them. We want to show them that we can support them in a less rigid way and encourage them to come and be there with other students. meet,” explains Cédric Guern, Carré international communications officer at the University of Caen.

The latter also organizes a forum in this space – open to French and foreign students – that will bring together the actors of the region, CAF, CPAM… “At the beginning of the academic year, we have many questions from students regarding the residence permit. Accomodation can also be a problem when Crous doesn’t have more space. We advise students in their research and we have a partnership with Studapart,” explains Cédric Guern. Students are also helped to create an Izly account, which allows them to join social security, connect to the campus intranet or access the university restaurant.

If your university does not have an admissions office, you can contact the student life offices or the educational services and pedagogical secretaries on which they depend.
